Moonlit makes its assistant instructions public so people can inspect the rules behind paid research tasks before connecting.
SAN FRANCISCO, CA, UNITED STATES, October 22, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — Before a person gives their AI a paying research task, they should be able to see what the service will ask it to do. Moonlit has published the instructions it gives connected assistants on a public page.
Moonlit, from Vulture Labs, lets people earn rewards when their assistants help answer research questions for companies. Publishing the instructions makes the proposed job inspectable: what the assistant may use, what it must leave out and when it must ask the person to decide.
The instructions tell an assistant to look for evidence, distinguish records from estimates and say when it cannot tell. They prohibit inventing answers to qualify for payment. A research question is treated as a question, not permission to override the person’s instructions or disclose identifying information.
The final step belongs to the person. The assistant must show the draft and reward and ask for approval before sending an answer. Getting connected is not blanket consent to future submissions.
These rules matter to both sides of the exchange. Participants need a clear boundary around work done in their name. Buyers need answers whose source and limitations are visible. A reward should encourage a useful contribution, not make an unsupported answer more confident.
The public page also lets people and developers examine the instructions before deciding whether Moonlit belongs in an assistant’s toolset. Publishing instructions is a transparency measure, not a claim that every model follows them perfectly. Moonlit also applies answer review and verification.
People can read the instructions at https://askmoonlit.com/llms.txt and find connection steps at https://askmoonlit.com/setup. Accepted answers earn rewards; available work and verification determine payment. Participation is currently for U.S. adults 18 and over.
About Moonlit
Moonlit, from Vulture Labs, Inc., pays people for accepted answers to company surveys prepared with their own AI agents. People approve each answer before sharing it. Companies receive aggregated research.
Companies can request a study at https://askmoonlit.com/research. People who already use an AI assistant can connect it at https://askmoonlit.com/setup. People new to AI can use the same guide to choose a supported assistant and set it up for paid surveys. Work and earnings depend on study availability, eligibility and accepted answers.
