CANADA NICKEL COMPANY RELEASES 2025 ESG REPORT
PR Newswire
TORONTO, Oct. 6, 2026
TORONTO, Oct. 6, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Canada Nickel Company Inc. (“Canada Nickel” or the “Company”) (TSXV: CNC) (OTCQB: CNIKF) today released the Company’s 2025 Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) Report. While ESG reporting remains voluntary for Canada Nickel as a development-stage company, the Company continues to report annually as part of its commitment to transparency, accountability, and responsible project development. The report documents performance, progress, and objectives across material environmental, social, governance, health and safety, and economic matters for the period January 1 to December 31, 2025.

“2025 was a defining year for Canada Nickel as we continued to advance the Crawford Nickel Project towards a construction decision in 2027 while strengthening our commitment to responsible mining and long-term sustainability across the Timmins Nickel District,” said Mark Selby, CEO of Canada Nickel. “A key milestone was the growing recognition of Crawford as a nation-building critical minerals project. Its referral to the federal Major Projects Office (MPO) in 2025, followed by its designation under Ontario’s One Project, One Process (1P1P) framework in January 2026, reflects Crawford’s strategic importance to Canada’s critical minerals supply chains, economic security and industrial future, while enabling the clean energy transition.”
In 2025, Canada Nickel continued to advance the Company’s goals toward true reconciliation and meaningful Indigenous economic participation by finalizing a $20 million equity investment from Taykwa Tagamou Nation, representing one of the largest direct investments by a First Nation in a Canadian critical minerals project at signing and a seat on the Board of Directors. The Company also entered into a contracting agreement with Matachewan First Nation, Mattagami First Nation and Flying Post First Nation, through Wabun Tribal Council, creating opportunities for Indigenous participation in key Crawford infrastructure and construction activities.
“At Canada Nickel, we place tremendous value on Indigenous partnerships and responsible stewardship in the communities where we operate,” continued Selby. “Developing Crawford in partnership with Indigenous Nations and local communities helps ensure that sustainability, environmental protection and project planning reflect local knowledge, priorities and values. Meaningful local participation is central to our vision for a low-carbon critical minerals corridor that supports both the economic and environmental priorities of communities across Northeastern Ontario.”
