Harbor Capital Advisors, Inc. (“Harbor”), an asset manager focused on delivering differentiated investment solutions, today announced the commemoration of five years since becoming an issuer of ETFs and the five-year track-record milestone for its first two ETFs, the Harbor Ares Systematic High Yield ETF (NYSE Arca: SIHY) and Harbor Ares Systematic Multi-Sector Income ETF (NYSE Arca: SIFI). The ETFs were launched with strategic partner Ares Systematic Credit, an affiliate of Ares Management Corporation (NYSE:ARES)(“Ares”), a leading global alternative investment manager.
The anniversary underscores a long-term partnership built around the shared objective of pairing Ares Systematic Credit’s specialist technology and solutions with Harbor’s focus on giving advisors differentiated, portfolio-ready investment capabilities. SIHY emphasizes security selection within U.S. high yield, while SIFI combines security selection with dynamic management of credit and duration exposures across high yield and investment grade bonds. Over their first five years, SIHY has sought to deliver benchmark outperformance and income while SIFI seeks income and total return anchored to Ares Systematic Credit’s evidence-based, data-driven portfolio construction, proprietary research insights and disciplined risk management.
“Five years gives advisors something more meaningful than a new idea. It gives them a live record they can evaluate through different market environments,” said Kristof Gleich, President and CIO at Harbor Capital Advisors. “Our partnership with Ares Systematic Credit was built around a simple belief: income should not be pursued by reaching for yield alone. Advisors need to understand what risk is paying that income and whether the strategy is being deliberate about the risks it takes. SIHY and SIFI give them two differentiated ways to put that discipline to work for clients.”
Gleich added, “We look for specialist managers with a repeatable edge, then work with them to make that expertise useful in real portfolios. Ares Systematic Credit brings a research-intensive, systematic approach to a market where breadth, security selection and risk control matter. The five-year milestone gives advisors another reason to take a fresh look at how SIHY and SIFI may fit into an income allocation.”
“Through our partnership with Harbor, we have delivered attractive systematic credit solutions in an efficient ETF format designed to address a range of portfolio needs,” said Alex Khein, Partner and Head of Systematic Credit at Ares. “We seek attractive risk-managed benchmark outperformance and income in SIHY as well as income and total return via SIFI and look forward to building on our research-driven proprietary approach as we continue our partnership with Harbor in the years ahead.”

All investments involve risk including the possible loss of principal.
Unlike mutual funds, ETFs may trade at a premium or discount to their net asset value.
Shares are bought and sold at market price not net asset value (NAV). Market price returns are based upon the closing composite market price and do not represent the returns you would receive if you traded shares at other times.
SIHY & SIFI: All investments involve risk including the possible loss of principal. Fixed income securities fluctuate in price in response to various factors, including changes in interest rates, changes in market conditions and issuer-specific events, and the value of your investment in the Fund may go down. There is a greater risk that the Funds will lose money because they invest in below- investment grade fixed income securities and unrated securities of similar credit quality (commonly referred to as “high-yield securities” or “junk bonds”). These securities are considered speculative because they have a higher risk of issuer default, are subject to greater price volatility and may be illiquid. Because the Funds may invest in securities of foreign issuers, an investment in the Funds is subject to special risks in addition to those of U.S. securities. These risks include heightened political and economic risks, greater volatility, currency fluctuations, higher transaction costs, delayed settlement, possible foreign controls on investment, possible sanctions by government bodies of other countries and less stringent investor protection and disclosure standards of foreign markets.
The ICE BofA U.S. High Yield Index (H0A0) Index is an unmanaged index that tracks the performance of below investment grade U.S. Dollar-denominated corporate bonds publicly issued in the U.S. domestic market. All bonds are U.S. dollar denominated and rated Split BBB and below. This unmanaged index does not reflect fees and expenses and is not available for direct investment.
The Bloomberg U.S. Aggregate Bond Index is an unmanaged index of investment-grade fixed-rate debt issues with maturities of at least one year. This unmanaged index does not reflect fees and expenses and is not available for direct investment.
Yield is a return measure for an investment over a set period of time, expressed as a percentage.
